ICAR-NBPGR hosted the first meeting of the Expert Committee on DNA Fingerprinting on May 21, 2018. The meeting was chaired by Dr H S Gupta, former DG BISA & Ex-Director ICAR-IARI, New Delhi and was attended by the members including Dr J L Karihaloo, Ex-Director, ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi, Dr N K Singh, Director, ICAR-NRCPB, New Delhi, Dr Ramesh Aggarwal, Chief Scientist, CCMB, Hyderabad, Dr Sanjeev Saxena, ADG (IP & TM), ICAR, Dr K V Ravishankar, Principal Scientist, IIHR, Banglore, Dr Manoj Prasad, Staff Scientist, NIPGR, New Delhi, and Dr Kuldeep Singh, Director, ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi and Member Secretary. Various issues related to DNA fingerprinting in plants were flagged by the members and discussed in the meeting to lay a road map.
