Eight-parent MAGIC population of wheat for terminal-heat stress tolerance being developed under NICRA project

Director ICAR-NBPGR visited the wheat research field of Division of Genomic Resources along with staff of the division. He discussed with the concerned scientist about the wheat experiments like MAGIC (Multi-parent Advanced Generation Inter-Cross) population, mini core and bi parental populations of different stages in bread wheat being developed under NICRA project, phenotyping of RIL’s population for terminal heat tolerance under extramural projects, field trial for mapping genes for stem reserve mobilization efficiency and trait associated with terminal heat tolerance.
