Vigilance Awareness Week, 2020, ICAR-NBPGR, Pusa Campus, New Delhi 110 012

ICAR-NBPGR observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 2nd November, 2020. This year the theme for the week was "Vigilant India, Prosperous India". Vigilance pledge was taken by all the staff of ICAR-NBPGR on October 27 in virtual mode through Zoom meeting. Various activities were conducted during the week which included debate on the topic "Corruption hampers the development of a country” and essay writing competition on the topic " How vigilance can make India prosperous  ". Besides, slogan writing competition on the topic “Vigilant India, Prosperous India” was also conducted during the week. On the inauguration day, the Vigilance Officer Dr. M.K. Rana briefed about the importance of observing Vigilance Awareness Week and about the activities scheduled for the whole week. Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Director, ICAR-NBPGR in his opening address highlighted that safeguarding the values of nation is important for individual progress. He explained about the many faces of corruption apart from the most common perception in the form of financial bungling. Apart from Director, ICAR-NBPGR, Heads of Divisions, Dr. S.C. Dubey and Dr. Veena Gupta also spoke on the occasion. The following staff of the Bureau were declared winners of various events organized for the occasion:
I. Essay Writing Competition
• 1st Prize: Ms. Kushaldeep Kaur
• 2nd Prize: Dr. (Ms.) Sherry Rachel Jacob
• 3rd Prize: Dr. V. Celia Chalam

II. Debate Competition
• 1st Prize: Dr. (Ms.) Sherry Rachel Jacob
• 2nd Prize: Mr. Rajeev Gambhir
• 3rd Prize: Dr. Veena Gupta

III. Slogan Writing Competition
• 1st Prize: Dr. Pragya
• 2nd Prize: Ms. Akansha Bajpai
• 3rd Prize: Shri Surendra Singh Bhoj
