Transgenic cotton grown in containment facility and uprooted on 11.11.2020

Transgenic cotton vide IQ 371/2019 imported from France were grown in the Containment Facility by Division of Plant Quarantine (DPQ), ICAR-NBPGR. After 45 days, the plants were uprooted and destroyed following standard operating procedure on 11.11.2020 in the presence of Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Director, ICAR-NBPGR & Chairman, Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBSC); Dr Gurinderjit Randhawa, Head, Division of Genomic Resources (DGR) & Member Secretary, IBSC; Dr. V. Celia Chalam, Principal Scientist, DPQ & Member, IBSC; Dr. Kavita Gupta, Principal Scientist, DPQ & Member, IBSC; Dr. Monika Singh, Scientist (SS), DGR & Member, IBSC; Dr. S. C. Dubey, Head, DPQ; Dr. Z. Khan, Principal Scientist, DPQ; Dr. Jameel Akhtar, Principal Scientist, DPQ and Mr. A.K. Maurya, Chief Technical Officer, DPQ.
