Dr Tilak Raj Sharma, Deputy Director General (CS), ICAR visited ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, Regional Station Hyderabad on 26.05.2022. He was accompanied by Dr M Sujatha, Director, ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad. Dr Anitha Kodaru welcomed the dignitaries and introduced all the staff of the station. She presented the overall research activities and accomplishments of the station.
In his address to staff, Dr TR Sharma, DDG (CS) emphasized collaboration with ICAR sister institutions for research work, germplasm explorations, characterization, evaluation and utilization. He further insisted that prebreeding of crop diversity, crossing with CWRs for value traits. He appreciated the scientists for involvement in various externally funded projects that are operational at the station and the existing facilities. Dr Sharma visited the laboratory and medium term storage facilities and planted a lemon (Balaji variety) sapling in the campus. Dr Sujatha, Director, ICAR-IIOR wished all the staff for good work being carried out. Dr N Sivaraj, Principal Scientist extended the vote of thanks on the occasion.
