A group of 62 students (B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.)) and faculty members, led by Dr. Amit Saurabh, Assistant Professor, Eternal University, Baru Sahib, Sirmour (H.P.), visited the ICAR-NBPGR Regional Station, Shimla on 25th June 2022.
Dr. Mohar Singh, Principal Scientist & OIC of the station, interacted with the students regarding the mandate activities of ICAR-NBPGR and made the students aware about the concept and approaches involved in Plant Genetic Resources Management. Dr. Rahul Chandora, who was the coordinator of the programme, delivered a lecture on the conservation, utilization and popularization of pseudo cereals and minor pulses for dietary diversification through presentation and exhibition and also led the visit to the MTS unit at the station. Dr. Narender Negi delivered a talk on the conservation and utilization of fruits, focusing on the role of wild fruits in enhancing nutritional security. From the station, Sh. Ram Chander, Sh. Dayal Singh, Sh. Amit Kumar and Sh. Pradeep Kumar assisted in the organization of the programme.
