Dr JC Rana, Principal Scientist & Officer–in-Charge NBPGR Regional Station, Shimla  received first "Prof. MS Swaminathan National Award for Outstanding Research on Hill Agriculture" constituted by ICAR Research Complex for NE Region, Barapani, Shillong. The award conferred to him in the foundation day celebrations of the institute on 09.01.2015. The award carries Rs. one lakh and a citation.
