Salient Achievements:
  • Facilitated in safe exchange of germplasm under Quarantine:import / export crop germplasm in South India and post-entry quarantine inspections on import crop germplasm meant for private industry, public organizations and international institutes
  • Identified promising isolates of fluorescent pseudomonads, viz., Pseudomonas putidaDAPG1 (GenBank: JX514425) and P. putida DAPG3 (GenBank: JX14404) for management of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne arenaria in groundnut.
  • Documented the plant parasitic nematodes affecting major flower crops.
  • Standardised the bio-formulations for management of root-knot nematode, M. incognita in tuberose
