Salient Achievements:

• Development of cryopreservation techniques for the conservation of excised embryonic axis of Camellia sinensis and Poncirus trifoliata.
• Ultra desiccation as cost effective storage technology has been developed in tree speciesi.e., Phoenix dactylifera, Jatropha curcas, Pongamia pinnata and Ricinus communis
• Identified the seed storage behavior and development of short/ medium termstorage protocols in lesser known and difficult to store species i.e., Pongamia pinnata, Schleichera oleosa, Syzygium cuminii, Saraca asoka, Murrya paniculata, Sapindus laurifolia, Mimusops hexandra and Samadera indica
• Mehods have been devised for seed quality enhancement in Cucumis sativus and Jatropha curcas through seed invigoration treatments i.e., hydro, osmo and solid-matrix priming
• Zero energy based seed conservation at Leh-Ladakh in nine oilseed crops as an alternative strategy for low temperature conservation
• Processing and Management of oilseed crops ( ~60000 acc. ) conserved in National Gene Bank for more than 30 years in long term storage at -20° C.
