Bioinformatics Workshop on "Wheat genome Data analysis for Improvement of Nitrogen Use Efficiency", Indo-UK collaborative Project on Nitrogen use improvement in wheat February 27th to March 2nd 2019

Improving Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE) of wheat would increase its production on sustainable basis. To address issue Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India and British Biotechnology Council (BBSRC), UK funded collaborative project on The Indo-UK Centre for the Improvement of Nitrogen Use Efficiency in Wheat (INEW). For imparting training to young scientists and researchers, a bioinformatics workshop funded from BBSRC, UK is organized at ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, New Delhi from 27th February to 2nd March 2019. Twenty four (24) scientists/research scholars are participating in the workshop.

The workshop was formally inaugurated on 28th February, 2019 by Dr Kuldeep Singh, Director, ICAR-NBPGR and Dr. Suchita Ninawe, Advisor, DBT, in the presence of Dr. Till Pellny, INEW, UK Rothamsted Research, Dr. Luzie Wingle, John Inns Institute, Norwitch, Dr. Alex Couldron, Bristol University, Dr. Soma S. Marla, Principal Scientist & PI INEW project, NBPGR component, Dr. K. Venkatesh, Project PI, ICAR-IIWBR, Karnal, Dr. Gurinderjit Randhawa, Head, Division of Genomic Resource and experts from ICAR/ SAUs.
