Awareness Programme on “PGR for Climate Resilient Agriculture and Nutritional Security” organized on 5th March 2022 at Issapur Experimental Farm under the Schedule Caste Sub-Plan, 100 farmers of five villages including 20 women farmers, 113 Bureau staff and 23 others participated in it. On this occasion, Farmer’s-Scientist’s interaction was convened by Dr Moolchand Singh and Dr. Gurinderjit Randhawa, ICAR-NBPGR in her introductory remarks focused on climate change and nutritional security and Dr. KS Hooda, ICAR-NBPGR emphasized on the "PGR for Biotic stress management". Dr. Samar Pal Singh from KVK, Ujwa sensitized the farmers on "Organic Farming", Dr. Jameel Akhtar, ICAR-NBPGR on "Biotic Stress Management" and Dr. Sapna, ICAR-NBPGR on "PGR for Nutritional Security".
During valedictory function, 5 innovative farmers, Sh. Balwan Singh, Sh. Azad Singh, Sh. Ombir, Smt. Sunita Kataria and Sh. Sant Ram were honoured by Director General, ICAR, New Delhi in the gracious presence of DDGs (Crop Sciences & NRM), ADG (Seeds) and Director ICR-NBPGR for their commendable work and 4 'Pradhan' were also felicitated. DG, ICAR in his valedictory remarks, highlighted the role of PGR in Climate Resilient Agriculture and Nutritional Security. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. RK Gautam, Head, DGE, ICAR-NBPGR.
