ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, Umiam in collaboration with KVK, West Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills conducted 1(one) day training programme on Plant Genetic Resources under NEH schemes, at the conference hall of KVK on 11th October,2022. Total 200 farmers from Nongshillong village participated in this programme. The programme was inaugurated with an welcome Speech from Head Incharge, Smt. L. Warjri. Dr. Julius Uchoi, Scientist and Officer Incharge, NBPGR Umiam delivered an lecture on importance of Plant Genetic resources for future agriculture. Dr. S. Ruth Assumi, Scientist Senior Scale(Horticulture) delivered lecture on Post Harvest Management of Horticultural crops. Dr Ereneus K. Marbaniang, SMS(Extension) delivered on integrated pest management in Rice. Kumari. Mesaya Rangsang Marak, SMS(Agronomy) delivered on Package of practice and brief about different rice germplasm of Rice in cultivation. Lecture on '' Awareness on the importance of seed quality assurance for farming community and accentuation on village seed banks by Kumari. Yvonne Sohtun, SMS(Horticulture). The farmers were distributed with inputs with set of ball pen, spiral note pad, Secateur, Sickle, Spade, Bagpack and watering can each.
