Report on North East Krishi Kumbh

ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources Regional Station,Umiam participated and exhibited various crop diversity of agricultural crops, including rice, maize, Horticultural crops with wild relatives such as curcuma longa, Zingiber officinale, Curcuma caesia, Alpinia galanga, Kaemferia galanga, Kaempferia rotunda, Capsicum frutescens, Capsicum chinense and potential crops including Job tears, Rice bean and buck wheat along with informative poster depicting agri-horti crop diversity of all the NE states during the three days on going NE- Krishi Kumbh/ Agricultural fair organized by ICAR-Research complex for NEH region, Umiam from 4th, January2023-6th January, 2023. On 5th January, 2023, Shri. Narendra Singh Tomar, Union minister for Agriculture and Farmers welfare inaugurated the programme, visited each stall and released the souvenir of the fair and presented award to the progressive farmers. In these event, All the regional stations of ICAR-Research complex for NEH region and other ICAR institutes NRC Pigs, Guwahati ICAR-NRC for Yak, Dirang Arunachal Pradesh; ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema, Nagaland & ICAR-NRC on Orchids, Pakyong, Sikkim; ICAR- CPCRI, Regional station, Kahikuchi, Assam; ICAR-CPRI, Regional station, Shillong including CAU Imphal, State department of Agriculture from various states of Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Assam,Self help group, NGOs & entrepreneurs participated and exhibited their technologies and products in the fair.
