Visit of Director ICAR-NRC Seed Spices to ICAR-NBPGR Regional Station, Jodhpur

Dr. Vinay Bhardwaj, Director ICAR-NRC Seed Spices, Ajmer Rajasthan along with team of scientists including Dr. S. N Saxena, Dr. R. S. Meena and Dr. N. K. Meena visited ICAR-NBPGR Regional Station, Jodhpur on 24th February, 2023. The purpose of their visit was to monitor the activities being carried out at NBPGR, RS Jodhpur specially with reference to on-going research progress on multi-location evaluation of cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) germplasm for identification of high yield potential at three locations (NRCSS, Ajmer –NBPGR, RS, Jodhpur - AU, Jodhpur). At the outset Dr. Vijay Singh Meena, Senior Scientist & Officer In Charge, welcomed them and briefed the progress of project activities and findings pertaining to seed spices crop in whole and cumin in particular. Later on inter institutional cumin project team visited field trials where approximately 500 accessions of seeds spices (cumin, fenugreek and coriander) are being evaluated for various specific traits. Dr. Bhardwaj appreciated the field trials and diversity being maintained in seed spices crops. Visiting team appreciated the work being done by NBPGR Jodhpur team and desired to have more collaborative research activities in future.
