One day Awareness program on PGR conservation for improving nutritional and livelihood security of farmers on 28th April, 2023 at Nigulsari Panchayat of Nichar Block district Kinnaur Himachal Pradesh.

An "Awareness program on plant genetic resources conservation for improving nutritional and livelihood security of farmers" was successfully organised under Tribal Sub Plan scheme of Government of India on 28th April, 2023 at Nigulsari Panchayat of Nichar Block district Kinnaur Himach Pradesh. The program was attended by a total of 170 farmers of Thach, Nanaspo, Tranda, Nigulsari and Chhonda villages. Inputs like sickle (2), secateurs bag, cap etc. were distributed to the 170 beneficiary farmers. Dr. Narender Negi coordinator of the programme welcomed the dignitaries and deliver the talk on conservation and utilization of fruits with the focused on role of wild fruits in nutritional security; Dr Mohar Singh PS and Officer In-charge presented the overview of the institute and delivered the talk on “Importance of Traditional crops for Nutritional security and Income generation”. Shri Hari Singh Panchayat Pradhan acknowledged the effort of the Bureau for working for the betterment of farmers. The meeting was attended by other members of Panchyat and Shri Dayal Singh Technical Officer assisted in the coordination of the programme.
