The new GM Detection Research Facility, Greenhouse and Net house of the Division of Genomic Resources inaugurated by Dr. Tilak Raj Sharma, DDG (Crop Sciences), ICAR on 18th April 2024

"The new GM Detection Research Facility, a national referral laboratory for the detection of GMOs notified by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Greenhouse facility, and the Net house was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Deputy Director General (Crop Science), ICAR, Dr. Tilak Raj Sharma, in the gracious presence of Dr. D. K. Yadava, ADG (Seed), Dr. G. P. Singh, Director, ICAR-NBPGR and Dr. Rakesh Singh, Head, Division of Genomic Resources, ICAR-NBPGR on 18th April 2024. Dr. Monika Singh, Senior Scientist and Dr. Amit Kumar Singh, Senior Scientist facilitated the visit of dignitaries and Heads of Divisions to the GM Detection Research Facility, established in compliance with ISO17025 to maintain unidirectional flow of GMO testing of samples. DDG (Crop Sciences) and ADG (Seed) appreciated the efforts of ICAR-NBPGR in the re-establishment of the GM Detection Research Facility for resuming the GMO testing services for the national interest. Dr. Manjusha Verma, Principal Scientist and Dr. S. Rajkumar, Principal Scientist, facilitated the visits of dignitaries to the renovated Greenhouse facility for raising the agri-horticultural crops throughout the year under controlled environmental conditions, which was followed by the inauguration of newly established Nethouse.
